Dr Willie Lawrencecardiologist and medical director of health equity at Corewell Health, joins the HouseCall Podcast to discuss heart disease, the health disparities that exist in cardiac care, and how certain risk factors can be addressed.
“There are disparities in health outcomes, heart disease, stroke and kidney disease,” says Dr. Lawrence. “Our goal is to eliminate these disparities. To do this, we must have an impact on the risk factors for the development of these disparities and this is the objective of the programming that we are trying to develop.
Lifestyle issues, access to health care, and management of chronic conditions such as hypertension are also examined.
