Cutler shared his thoughts on a stacked group of contestants.
As of this writing, there is still so much to sort out when it comes to 2023 Mr. Olympia competition. Even with a little over four months until the bodybuilding competition, there is undoubtedly a lot of competitive hustle and bustle behind the scenes. For cutler jayA four-time Mr. Olympia champion (2006-2007, 2009-2010), the bodybuilding legend likes to see what some of the fittest people on the planet are up to.
On June 23, 2023, in one of the last episodes of his podcast, Cutler broke down where he thinks the current Men’s Open split is before the start of Olympia 2023 this early November. To say the least, in a chat with his manager Matthew M. Daniels, the icon claimed he had his eyes on a few household names and didn’t mince words about potential upstarts.
Although Cutler didn’t offer specific thoughts on each main Mr. Olympia contender – Nick Walker was mentioned in passing but not elaborated upon – it mostly hit every corner of elite bodybuilders in the Men’s Open class. Here are some of Cutler’s thoughts on what is sure to be a busy Mr. Olympia scene in Orlando, Florida:
Michal “Krizo” Krizanek
Cutler was impressed with Michal Križánek’s recent progress but still felt he hadn’t closed the gap enough on the other athletes.
“He (Križánek) looked so fine, especially in his upper body,” Cutler said. “THE arm are some of the best in the business, and it looks like it’s made some improvements, which I think has improved from its previous projections. But I don’t know if it has shrunk a bit in size to collect the condition. I still have the impression that he will still struggle to climb to the top places of the Olympia (2023). »
Derek Lunsford and Samson Dauda
For some, after his runner-up Mr. Olympia finished in 2022, Derek Lunsford is the next superstar successor to bodybuilding. Cutler seems to be one of those people. However, after a recent mutual training session, Cutler made sure he spoke Winner of the Arnold Classic (AC) 2023 Samson Dauda as possible champion of Olympia in its own right.
“We just saw Derek (Lunsford) and Samson (Dauda) too,” Cutler said. “They trained together a few days ago and Derek looks great, which he always has, and Samson looks great, which he’s had for a few years. Obviously he’s the winner of Arnold (Classic) The question is whether Derek would have done the Arnold (Classic), and we could keep talking about that.
Hadi Choopan and Brandon Curry
Cutler believes that two established titans, Hadi Choopan And Brandon curry, have been somewhat overlooked in popular conversation. It could be a mistake for defending Olympia champion (Choopan) and 2019 winner (Curry).
“When it comes to conflict, Hadi (Choopan) kind of yelled ‘forget me not,'” Cutler explained. “We also forget about Brandon Curry.”
Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay
After failing a ‘three rounds’ in his Olympia title defense, there were rumblings that Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay could take a break from strength training to recharge. The Egyptian dynamo suppressed these conversations, saying that he trains “angry” for the redemption of Olympia in autumn. Cutler thinks this is the right mindset to have because:
- Elssbiay has no time to waste as he approaches the the age of 40 And
- Cutler thinks Elssbiay, at his best, can still win the Olympia.
“Ramy (Elssbiay) looks like he’s coming back and competing, which I’m all for,” Cutler said. his capacity. There really isn’t a timeline on this. He is 38 years old, he cannot take a few years off. I heard that his health is really excellent. I hear his training is really great. He had atrophy compared to previous years on his arms, triceps, I think he admitted to downsizing there. Chinedu Obiekea aka “Andrew Jacked” and Hunter Labrada
AndrewJack finished on the podium at AC 2023 and has already made ambitious plans for summer competition as a way to qualify for Olympia 2023. In the meantime, Labrador Hunter is in pursuit of her own Olympia redemption with a simplified training plan.
Cutler said he liked the duo’s talent, but colored his comment as if he still needed to see more of the two athletes.
“I also hear good things about Andrew (Jacked),” Cutler said. “The big showdown is going to be Texas (the Texas Pro 2023). There will also be other guys. I know there’s a lot of international shows, but it’s gonna be, like, who is not will qualify there (in Texas). These two guys (Andrew Jacked and Hunter Labrada) have to be in the lineup (Olympia) because they’re the people we’re talking about. The question is, can Andrew come and win the Olympia (2023) and shock the world?”
More so than most years, the Mr. Olympia 2023 is starting to look like an implacable gauntlet from which only a true champion of champions will emerge victorious. If an icon like Cutler professes it, such a competitive reality seems inevitable.
